Hi, all… I am in Salt Lake City, Utah, for the remainder of the week manning the Extreme Genes exhibitors booth, meeting many of you, and finding more amazing guests for the show. I took a VIP tour of the Family Discovery Center at the nearby Joseph Smith Building. I thought it was just a research area, as in the cover photo. Was I wrong! It’s like Disneyland! You enter a special room. Then you log onto your FamilySearch.org account on an iPad and begin the tour. Magnets hold the iPad onto special displays. The displays tie directly into your family lines and show you, for instance, a map of where your people came from and went to. If you’ve posted photos on FamilySearch.org, you’ll see your ancestors’ pix! I hope this is on line sometime soon. The personal family theater was the most impressive to me! I walked in, place my iPad on the magnet and then watched a theater style gallery of photos… featuring me as a child!… flash onto the screen. I literally gasped. It was very emotional seeing my deceased brother holding me on his shoulders, my late uncle greeting me on Easter, and my grandfather holding me as a baby. I actually had to gather myself for a moment. These pix don’t do it justice, but if you’re in town for the conference, put this on your must-see list! Fisher
